Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Woodstock Church of Christ,
Earlier this week, the World Health Organization officially classified the current COVID-19 outbreak as a global pandemic. Today, the President has declared a national state of emergency due to the virus outbreak and Governor Brian Kemp has strongly encouraged groups in excess of 250 people to suspend or cancel those gatherings.
The Eldership, after much prayer and out of an abundance of caution, along with advice from local, state, and federal governments have decided that the most prudent action is to suspend all worship services, and church activities through the end of March. During this time the church building will also be closed. The elders will reevaluate the situation prior to the end of the month and communicate any changes to the suspension no later than March 30th.
During this difficult time many of our members, especially our seniors, may need additional assistance such as; picking up groceries, medication, rides to the doctor, etc. The church office phone (770-926-8838) will be functional for a central means of communication for any assistance however the building will remain closed. If you can be of assistance with any of these needs please make yourself known to the church office so you can be added to the list of volunteers.
Although we will not meet collectively for worship, it is our expectation that each family will engage in worship on the first day of the week in your homes.
We look forward to the time we can worship together again as a church family. We are praying for everyone through this difficult time and would encourage each of you to pray daily for each other and our country.
The Eldership – Woodstock Church of Christ
