Message from the Elders
As modeled by the church of the New Testament, the Woodstock church of Christ is led by Elders, acting as shepherds of the spiritual flock. These men are selected by the local congregation on the basis of qualifications found in the scriptures, 1 Timothy 3: 1-7 and Titus 1: 5-16. The elders are pastors or overseers who serve under the headship of Christ according to the New Testament. They are to seek, in all matters, the mind of Christ who is the Head of the Church, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit inspired Word of God. They are to teach and exhort the church in sound doctrine and refute those who contradict the truth. Elders are involved in the lives of the members, providing spiritual guidance, prayer and visits in time of sickness, comfort and support in times of bereavement, counseling, and spiritual nourishment as members experience the realities of this life. Elders are to lead by example and will provide instruction for “equipping the saints for the work of ministry” as well as provide the edification needed for healthy relationships within the church (Ephesian 4:11-12). These men are shepherds of this congregation and their primary interest is helping the souls of this congregation reach heaven together.

Vacation Bible School
To provide a four day summer bible school to educate and build up children age 3 years old to 5th grade. The VBS is conducted each year with a new theme that tells a bible story. The stories are brought to life by building props and decorations to enhance the bible story. We aim to bring the story to life for the children so that the stories make a lasting impression on their lives and will be remembered for years to come. Snack time, craft time, song time, and game time all use the same bible story theme to create a consistent memorable message.
Young Christian Adults (YCA)
To maintain a schedule of bible study devotionals and social activities to edify and strengthen relationships with the Young Christian Adult group. This group consists of those from age 18 and out of High School to early thirties. The group will have young singles, young marrieds and young families as its demographic makeup. The group will typically meet at least 2 times per month with one meeting as a devotional time and bible study of current challenges facing this age group and the the other meeting being a social activity. Some social activities will included; Bowling, Bone Fires, picnics, Tubing down a river, and many other activities decided upon by the group.
